Gene Stout, Music Critic, 1 December 2009

Gene Stout, Seattle P.I. music critic for decades, just gave us a great review on his website. Among other things, he said: "Devereaux, an experienced vocalist with a strong command of the microphone and sly sense of humor, sings with passion and conviction. The entire band moves like a well-oiled machine. Happy Hour Hero blends rock, soul, blues and R&B. The harder songs are nicely balanced with sultry ballads. My favorite of the latter is the gorgeous Monkey Girl" ... Read the whole article ... Thanks, Gene!

Three and a half stars from Sound NW magazine

  • In the May 2009 issue of Sound NW magazine, Clint Brownlee gave us an excellent review, 3½ out of 4 stars! Image to the right, excerpts below.

"Strength in Numbers opens with strength ..."

"It's an accomplished mix of solid rock ... bluesy tunes ... slower, sweeter songs ... and R&B rhythms"

"Stingy only in its number of tracks" and hoping for more tunes on the next HHH release to better develop a "cohesive power to match the players' talents."

    Thanks, Clint!
